• Alaskan Steelhead Adventure

    Live aboard the 84-foot Alaskan Legend. The best steelhead fishing is for wild native fish that are unpressured. For this reason, we live aboard a movable platform so we are far away from everybody.

    This yacht is well-appointed with four beautiful staterooms. The salon is large and has glass on three sides, so the views are incredible. We use jet skiffs to travel up various creeks and streams to reach the freshwater fishing holes where the steelhead are resting. There is no one around to bother us, and we see tracks from various animals.

    Sometimes there is snow on the ground, and the water is generally cold, so good equipment makes a difference. We fish with 8 wt. single-hand rods using a dead-drift method. We can usually see the steelhead, so we know where we want our fly to drift.

    We rarely see bears at this time of year, but we do see bear tracks along with moose and wolf tracks. Precautions are taken to keep clients safe.

    The current price for this adventure is $7,500 per angler for five days of fishing. Groups of four anglers are preferred.
